Photo Retouch

I have tried. I've been there.

An online friend once asked me for my photos as he has showed his photos frequently. But I kept making excuses to him. I was morbid obese at the time.

Nonetheless he kept pushing and pushing almost everyday. I became more desperate from time to time. "What should I do?" I asked myself.

Then Eureka! A magnificent idea came to me. How about retouching my photos? Erase double chin. Make my face thinner. Yada. Yada.

So I scrambled to search for Adobe Photoshop tutorial on photo retouch and by George! I found few tutorials on how to erase double chin and how to make yourself look thinner. Hmm, so other people are also hiding their insecurity and obesity on the Internet.

I tried to follow one of the tutorials but the result wasn't satisfying. I did not know what to do. I did not want to show my fat photos to my friend. But he kept pushing me. What should I do?

In the end I flipped my photo album and searched for photos with these specifications:

• Distant shot
• Half body
• Focus more on face

Then I dabbed those photos with Blur effect.

I was being hypocritical. I know. But that was my past and that person is not who I am today.

The moral of this story is rather than hiding your insecurity, you should find a way to embrace it and to overcome it. In my case, I should have pushed my butt to lose weight instead of giving excuses.
